CYCLING ROUTES
Tour de Summer Camps riders choose between four routes (18, 36, 62 and 100 miles), each tailored to cyclists of different skill levels. Each ride begins and ends at Camp Alonim on the Brandeis-Bardin Campus of the American Jewish University in Simi Valley.

Begin your ride on the beautiful grounds of Camp Alonim at American Jewish University’s Brandeis-Bardin Campus. Enjoy a flat and fast ride through downtown Simi Valley, passing community parks along the way. Return by way of Simi Valley’s lively streets to the post-ride festivities at Camp Alonim.

Begin your ride on the beautiful grounds of Camp Alonim at American Jewish University’s Brandeis-Bardin Campus. Enjoy a flat and fast ride through downtown Simi Valley into the tree-lined streets of Thousand Oaks, where you’ll cruise by community parks and golf courses along the way. Return by way of Simi Valley’s lively streets to the post-ride festivities at Camp Alonim.

Begin your ride on the beautiful grounds of Camp Alonim at American Jewish University’s Brandeis-Bardin Campus. Enjoy a flat and fast ride out of downtown Simi Valley, then challenge yourself with some moderate downhill stretches and climbs starting in Newbury Park and Camarillo. Cruise through scenic Thousand Oaks, passing community parks and golf courses. Return by way of Simi Valley’s lively streets to the post-ride festivities at Camp Alonim.
This ride has a total elevation gain of 2,946 ft. and reaches a max elevation of 1,207 ft.*

Begin your ride on the beautiful grounds of Camp Alonim at American Jewish University’s Brandeis-Bardin Campus. Enjoy a flat and fast ride out of downtown Simi Valley, then challenge yourself with some moderate downhill stretches and climbs starting in Newbury Park and Camarillo. Cruise through quiet Ventura County farmland and take in the coastal views of Oxnard and Port Hueneme. Return alongside the scenic Camarillo countryside and back through the tree-lined paths of Thousand Oaks. Conclude your ride via Simi Valley’s lively streets at the post-ride festivities at Camp Alonim.
This ride has a total ascent of 3,490 ft. and reaches a max elevation of 1,254 ft.*

HIKING ROUTES
Tour de Summer Camps hikers choose between three routes (1, 3 and 6 miles).

6 Mile Hike
3 Mile Hike
1 Mile Hike



1 MILE
The 1 mile hike will begin at the west end of the Brandeis-Bardin Campus and head southwest toward the ridge lines of the campus boundary. Hikers will stay to their left during the entire hike. Once crossing the stream, the course starts to gradually climb offering amazing views of the campus and surrounding wildlife. The course will continue to climb until hikers reach the 1 mile turn around point. At this point, hikers will begin to head back down toward the start/finish.

3 MILE
The 3 mile hike will begin at the west end of the Brandeis-Bardin Campus and head southwest toward the ridge lines of the campus boundary. Hikers will stay to their left during the entire hike. Once crossing the stream, the course starts to gradually climb offering amazing views of the campus and surrounding wildlife. The course will continue to climb until hikers reach the overnight campsite located to the south. They will then turn around and proceed back the same way the came. Before reaching the stream, they will make a left and head back up toward another camp site. Once reaching the campsite, hikers will return back to the start/finish, always staying to the left. This completes the 3 mile hike course of Tour de Summer Camps.

6 MILE
The 6 mile hike will begin at the west end of the Brandeis-Bardin Campus and head southwest toward the ridge lines of the campus boundary. Hikers will stay to their left during the entire hike. The 6 mile course follows the 3 mile course for the first 3 miles and then does another extension on another part of the campus. Once crossing the stream, the course starts to gradually climb offering amazing views of the campus and surrounding wildlife. The course will continue to climb until hikers reach the overnight campsite located to the south. They will then turn around and proceed back the same way the came. Before reaching the stream, they will make a left and head back up toward another camp site. Once reaching the campsite, hikers will return back to the start/finish, always staying to the left. 6 mile hikers will follow the signs through the campus toward the 6 mile extension which will take them on greater climbs towards higher views and a new vantage point. Once hikers reach the hills, they will start climbing at a greater rate than before and the highest point on the course. At the top, take a moment to look around and enjoy. After a deep breath, turn around and follow the course back to the start/finish, where you will have completed the full 6 mile course.
