Game Format

  • Round Robin: Each player plays with a different partner and against a different pair of opponents for a total of seven games.
  • Scoring: Games will be played to 11 points, must win by 2 points.
  • How to Win: After seven games, the top eight players with the most total wins will advance to the playoff round. The players with the most total wins will be declared the winner of the tournament. In the event of players having the same number of total wins, the total points will be used as the tie-break. If still a tie, we may declare multiple winners.

Match Conduct

  • All players must wear appropriate sportswear and non-marking court shoes.
  • Be respectful and sportsmanlike. This is about having fun, learning, and enjoying the game.
  • Trash talk is allowedโ€”just keep it friendly and light-hearted!

Serving Rules

  • The serve must be underhand, and the ball must clear the non-volley zone (kitchen).
  • Serve rotation: Players switch sides after each point won on their serve.
  • The first team to serve in each game will be randomly determined.

Timeouts

  • Each team is allowed one 30-second timeout per game.

Player Substitution

  • Substitutions can be made only at the beginning of a game, not during the middle of a game.

Equipment

  • All paddles must be compliant with official pickleball standards. If you're unsure, please check with the event organizers before the start of the tournament.
  • Balls will be provided; however, players can bring their own paddles.

Tie-breakers

  • In case of a tie after the Round Robin, head-to-head results will be used to break the tie.
  • If necessary, a one-game playoff will determine the winner.

Weather Contingencies

  • In the case of weather delays, we will provide updates. Any changes to the schedule will be posted on the TdSC Website and emailed out to participants.
